Python leather bags, made by hand
This is how python leather bags are made in our Jakarta workshop: one piece at a time, from a documented skin to the last hand stitch.
It starts with a documented skin
No skin enters our workshop without verified CITES documentation, and every skin comes from licensed, traceable Indonesian suppliers. CITES is an international agreement between governments that regulates trade in listed wild species. Python species used for leather are generally listed in its Appendix II, which allows international trade under export permits meant to show the skins were sourced legally and sustainably.
Every skin has its own scale pattern, and no two skins are alike. That is why no two of our bags are exactly the same.
Cut with the scales aligned
Every panel is cut by hand with the scales aligned, so the scales on each panel run the way the design needs.
Alignment matters because the eye follows the scales. When they line up, the pattern runs true across the panels and the bag reads as one surface. When they do not, the eye catches every join.
Every python bag is hand-stitched
Every piece is stitched entirely by hand in our Jakarta workshop. No part of the stitching is done by machine.
We make one piece at a time. It is slower than a production line, and it means each bag has our full attention from the first stitch to the last. The same small workshop makes a single bag for one customer and a private-label run for a brand, to the same standard.
Reinforced edges and lining
Edges take much of the daily wear on a bag, so we reinforce them, and our pieces are lined. With hand stitching, this construction is how we build bags to last.
30+ colors and finishes
We work with more than 30 colors and finishes, developed for durability and consistency. Ask us on WhatsApp for the current color card.
Free repairs for manufacturing defects
We stand behind every piece we make. If a bag shows a manufacturing defect, we repair it free of charge at our Jakarta workshop.
